As a Hiring Manager, you will have firsthand experience to navigate the Workstream dashboard. Now that your account has been successfully setup and your hiring process established, you are now ready to screen and hire your first applicant.
Below we’ve listed some of the best practices that are recommended:
- Set up Screening Questions. Adding screening questions to gather more information on your applicants is an efficient way to filter them and determine if they are a good fit for the role. It is highly recommended to set the screening questions during the initial application stage to rule out those who are not qualified for the job and will definitely help you save more time in sorting your applicants out. - Maximize the Scheduling feature for the interview stage. Whether it's a phone or onsite interview, Workstream's scheduling tool helps you organize your interviews. Take advantage of all the scheduling advanced settings such as: duration of your interview; the maximum number of applicants allowed per session; view and update your teammate's calendar, etc. For more info, click here.
- Logging in daily to move applicants. After some time, you will realize that logging in becomes a habit and a part of your daily work routine. As applicant screening is an integral part, if not the core, of your hiring process, you might find moving applicants from one stage to another refreshing as it gets you closer to picking the best person for the job. On another note, if the applicant is a better fit for another role, you can simply move them to another position instead of asking them to reapply.
