Workstream has partnered with WOTC by Efficient Hire (an Equifax company). This partnership allows you to collect information from your new employees through the New Hire Tax Credit Survey form.
The information you gather will be automatically sent to WOTC by Efficient Hire to check if your new hire qualifies for the tax credit.
In this article, you’ll learn how to set up the WOTC by Efficient Hire (Equifax) integration, add it to your onboarding process, and check the status of submissions.
⚠️ Make sure you have an existing Efficient Hire account before you proceed. If you don't have an account, reach out to Efficient Hire to create one.

Set up and connect WOTC by Efficient Hire
📌 You need the "Create and edit integrations" permission to add integrations. If you don't have access to this setting, reach out to your Super Admin.
Retrieve your GUID token by contacting a representative at Efficient Hire.
Note: The GUID token is required in the next step.
Switch to Admin View, then go to Integrations › WOTC › WOTC by Efficient Hire.
Paste your GUID token from Step 1 into the text field, then click Connect existing account to connect to your Efficient Hire account.
To make sure your employees are credited under the correct location in your WOTC Efficient Hire account, map your Workstream locations to the Efficient Hire locations.
If you can't see the location you want to map, contact Efficient Hire to add a new location. Once added, you should see the location on your Workstream account.
Add the WOTC by Efficient Hire module to the onboarding process
📌 You need the "Edit onboarding processes and onboarding documents" permission to add and edit onboarding processes. If you don't have access to this setting, reach out to your Super Admin.
Switch to Admin View.
Go to Onboarding › Onboarding Processes.
Choose Create new process.
Note: For existing processes, select Add module if you wish to add to it. Proceed to step 5 at this point.
Enter your process name, then Continue.
Select WOTC by Efficient Hire as your module. Choose Continue, then Save.
You can choose to review the Basic Information module or select Skip this task. If you are done reviewing, select Continue, then Save.
Optional Step: Add WOTC pre-qualification questions to your application form
Workstream lets you include a set of 6 pre-determined WOTC pre-qualification questions for applicants to answer. This helps you figure out if the applicant might meet the pre-qualification criteria. Here’s how to set it up.
📌 Only users with the "Create and edit job details templates" permission can create and edit a Hiring process template. Reach out to your Super Admin if you need access to this setting.
Switch to admin view, then go to Hiring Processes.
Select the three-dot menu ••• next to the hiring process you want to edit, then Edit.
Add the Form stage, then select ⨁ Add question.
From the Type dropdown menu, select WOTC pre-questionnaire, then Add.
Fill the form and retrieve the status
To check the status of the WOTC form:
Go to Onboarding > Overview, then select the employee you would like to check on.
Scroll down to the WOTC by Efficient Hire module, and the status will be shown.
Below is an example of how it will look like if the employee has not completed the form:
If the employee completed the form, the eligibility status will show up on the module as shown below. After this step, you may go into your Efficient Hire platform account for other operations, such as attaining the full report:
