Build custom payroll reports

Use the Payroll Report Builder to create and export custom payroll reports that fit your organization’s needs. You can start with pre-built templates or build from scratch by selecting datasets and arranging fields with a simple drag-and-drop interface.

Reports can be exported immediately or scheduled for delivery in formats like CSV or Excel, making it easier to share and analyze payroll data on your timeline.

Build your own report

To build your own report,

  1. Select New Report.

  2. Choose one of our ready to go datasets.

  3. Drag and drop fields like an excel pivot table.

  4. Save and/or Export.


Download or email a report

You can download any report, whether it’s a built-in report or one you built yourself. You can either save the report right away or set up an automatic reports that sends it to you on a schedule.

  1. Open a payroll report

    1. In Team View, go to Reporting.

    2. Select Reports, then go to the Payroll tab.

    3. Select the payroll report type you want to download (e.g., Payroll Summary Report).

    4. Select Export now, or Schedule export.

  2. Export now

    1. Pick a file type:

      • CSV (.csv) – best for spreadsheets

      • Excel (.xlsx) – good for editing or printing

      • Excel - Pivot (.xlsx) - exports the data into a pre-built pivot table format

      • PDF (.pdf) – good for charts

      • Image (.png) – good for visuals like pie or bar charts

    2. Select Export now.The file will download to your computer right away. Check your Downloads folder to find it.

  3. Schedule export

    1. In the setup window, select + Schedule an export.

    2. Add email addresses (one at a time, press Enter after each).

    3. Write a subject line (or leave it blank to use a default).

    4. (Optional) Add a message if you want to explain what’s in the export.

    5. Pick the export file type (CSV, Excel, PDF, or Image).

    6. Choose how often and what time to send it.

    7. (Optional) Select Send Test to see what it’ll look like.

    8. When everything looks good, select Schedule Email.
