Read announcements from your manager

Important updates from your manager or company will appear in the Announcements group. To stay in the loop:

  1. Open the Announcements chat.

  2. Read the latest announcements.

  3. Tap Mark as Acknowledged to confirm you’ve seen it. This helps your manager know everyone is up to date.

Chat with your team in General Chat

You’ll automatically join a General Chat with team members at your location. Use this space to:

  • Ask quick questions

  • Share updates

  • Stay connected with your team

Your manager can also send announcements here, so check in often.

📌 Once you're offboarded from Workstream, you'll be removed from the group chat automatically.

Send a direct message (DM)

You can send a direct message (DM) to anyone in your team, whether it’s your manager or a coworker.

Use DMs for quick questions, schedule updates, or anything that doesn’t need to be shared in the group chat.

Start and customize your group chat

Start a group chat

  1. Open the Workstream US app.

  2. Tap the 💬 chat icon.

  3. Tap the 👥 team icon, then New Group.

  4. Select the team members you want to include.

  5. Tap Create.

Customize your group chat

After creating a group chat, you can change the name, update members, and adjust settings. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Group info screen

    1. Open the group chat you’ve just created.

    2. Tap the group chat name at the top.

  2. Rename the group
    By default, the group name is auto-filled with the names of the selected members. To customize it:

    1. Tap the group name at the top.

    2. Delete the auto-filled member names.

    3. Enter a new name in the text field.

  3. Add or review members

    • Tap the ⊕ plus icon to add more team members.

    • Tap the → arrow icon to view the full list of current members.

  4. Manage group settings

    • Mute all members: Turn this on if you want only managers or admins to post messages.

    • Pin to Top: Turn this on to keep this chat at the top of your inbox.

  5. Leave the group

    • Tap Leave group if you no longer want to be part of the chat.

  6. Tap Done in the upper-right corner to save.
