Track every tax filing status in Payroll

The Tax Filings page brings every filing into one live view — so instead of digging around, you always know what's blocked, what's in progress, and what's already filed.

Everything in one place

Open Payroll > Tax Filings to see every filing your company owes, all in one sortable queue. Each row shows the filing name, entity, type, period, and due date, so you can scan for what needs attention without opening anything.

A summary at the top gives you an instant read on how many filings are blocked, pending, submitted, or filed.

Five statuses, zero guesswork

Every filing on the page carries one of five statuses:

  • Pending — Scheduled and not yet due. No action needed yet.

  • Blocked — Something is in the way. Resolve it to keep the filing moving.

  • Submitted — Sent to the agency and awaiting processing.

  • Filed — Acknowledged and accepted by the agency.

  • Not Applicable — Doesn't apply to this entity for this period.

Note: Every filing also shows when it was last updated, so you always know how current the status is.

Stay ahead of every due date

Open any filing to see the full picture: type, period, due date, and a clear progress trail from preparation through submission to acceptance. Pending filings surface on a calendar view, so upcoming due dates are visible well before they become urgent — no last-minute scramble.

Know exactly what's blocked — and what to do next

When a filing is blocked, Workstream tells you exactly why, in plain language, right next to the step that will resolve it — for example, a gap in your company tax setup — so you can jump straight there. If a filing has more than one blocker, each one gets its own clear path to resolve. No jargon, no waiting on status guesses.

Note: Resolving a blocker on an original filing after it's already been submitted may require an amendment. Workstream keeps the two records linked so the correction stays traceable.

Proof it's done

Once the agency accepts a filing, its status moves to Filed and the filing date appears right on the page — so you have an answer ready if anyone asks. Download the filed document directly from the page for your records, and review the full history of every status change, from creation through submission to acceptance.

Originals and amendments, linked

Need to correct a return after it's been accepted? Amendments are filed as their own records and linked back to the original, so the full correction chain stays traceable in one place. Open an amendment to see the original it corrects, follow every linked record, and download both the original and amended documents once available.

Get the heads-up the moment a filing is blocked

When a filing hits a blocker, the right people get an email with the filing details, why it's blocked, and a direct link to resolve it — so issues get handled long before they turn into deadline problems.
