Verify your email or phone to create your Workstream account

When you first join Workstream, as a team member or company admin, you’ll confirm your email or phone with a one-time verification code before your account is created. This keeps your account secure and stops anyone from claiming your email or phone.

Before you start:

📌 You need an active invitation to join your employer's company on Workstream, sent to your email address or phone number. Invitation links expire after 7 days for security.

📌 You need access to the inbox or phone that receives the invitation, since your verification code is sent there.

📌 If you were invited to the Admin View (HR Portal), only email verification is available — phone sign-up isn't offered for these invitations.

Steps:

  1. Open the invitation your employer sent you. Check your email inbox or text messages for the Workstream invitation, and select the link inside it. You'll land on a welcome screen showing your employer's company name.

  2. Choose how to join. Under Join with new account, select the card showing your email address or phone number, then select Sign up.

💡 If Workstream recognizes that email or phone number as already belonging to an account, you'll see it listed under Join with existing account instead, with a Verify button rather than Sign up — selecting it confirms the code to add this invitation to that existing account.

3. Enter your verification code. On the Enter your verification code screen, Workstream sends a 6-digit code to the email or phone you chose. Type in the code — it's checked automatically as soon as you finish entering it, so there's no extra button to select.

  • If the code doesn't arrive within about a minute, select Resend code.

4. Set your password. Once your code is confirmed, Workstream verifies your email or phone and creates your account. If you don't already have a password, you'll be asked to set one — at least 12 characters, combining numbers with letters or symbols — to finish securing it.

5. Finish joining. After your account is created, you'll see a confirmation screen. Select Continue to get started in Workstream.

⚠️ If an email or phone number shows up as belonging to someone else but it's actually yours, select Not my account next to it, then Link to my account to confirm. Doing this removes that email or phone number from the other account and assigns it to yours — only confirm this if you're certain that other account isn't someone else's.

📌 Invitation links expire 7 days after they're sent. If yours has expired, ask your employer to send you a new one.

Your Workstream account isn't created until your email or phone number is verified. If you close the window partway through, you'll need to go back through your invitation link and verify again.

📌 You may occasionally be asked to complete a quick security check before a code is sent — this helps keep automated sign-ups off your employer's account.
