SOC (Standard Occupational Classification) codes are no longer tied to individual employees — they are now assigned at the job title level. This means the SOC code follows the job title, ensuring consistent classification across all employees who hold the same role.
This change affects how you view and update SOC codes. Here's what changed and where to find each action now.
What changed
Previously, SOC codes were set at the employee level under their Employment Details. With this update:
The primary job SOC code is now displayed under Employment Details as a read-only field. It cannot be edited from this section.
SOC codes can now be assigned or updated when assigning a job to an employee in Team View.
SOC codes can also be viewed and edited directly on a job title in Admin View.
View an employee's primary job SOC code
The SOC code for an employee's primary job is now displayed as a read-only field in their Employment Details. You can no longer edit the SOC code directly from this section.
To view it:
Go to Team View, then Team.
Select the employee's name to open their profile.
Go to the Job and Pay tab, then scroll to the Employment details section.
The SOC code for the employee's primary job is displayed here.
📌 Note: When you select Edit in the Employment Details section, the SOC code field will not appear. To update the SOC code, you need to edit it at the job title level (see sections below).
