Worker View of the Workstream Mobile App

Overview

The Workstream mobile app (also called Worker Hub) gives employees direct access to their work tools from a phone or tablet. This guide covers the full worker experience on mobile (phone), including navigation and every available section.

The app is available on iOS and Android.

πŸ“Œ What you see in the app depends on what your workplace has enabled. If certain sections are missing, your employer may not have activated those features.

Step 1: Sign Up or Log In

Open the app and tap Login. You'll land on the "Sign up or log in to Workstream" screen.

  1. Enter your work email address and tap Next.

  2. Check your inbox for a verification code, enter it, and tap Submit.

  3. If prompted, set a new password β€” minimum 12 characters, including at least 3 of: Lowercase, Uppercase, Numbers, Symbol. Tap Save.

  4. Enter your First name and Last name, then tap Finish.

πŸ“Œ Use the email you provided to your employer, or check your inbox for an invitation link from Workstream.

Navigating the Mobile App

On mobile phones, the app uses a bottom tab bar with 3 items:

  • Chat β€” team messaging (with unread badge)

  • Today β€” your daily home screen

  • More β€” grid of all other sections

Tap More to access: Schedule, Payroll, Manager Logbook, Form, Tasks, Time Clock, Time Off, and Help Center. Tap Edit to customize which sections appear in your tab bar β€” you can pin up to 5.

πŸ“Œ On tablets (iPad), navigation appears as a left sidebar. On phones, it is the bottom tab bar + More grid described above.

Today

The Today tab is your home screen. It shows the following cards:

  • Your next shift β€” displays the date, time, role, and location of your upcoming shift. Tap Clock in β†’ to go directly to Time Clock when your shift is ready. Tap the location name to switch locations.

  • Todo β€” lists your assigned tasks with due dates and assignee. Tap any task to open it. Shows "No more tasks" when all are complete.

  • Latest paystub β€” shows your most recent pay stub, or "No paystubs" if none are available yet.

  • Take a quick survey β€” optional feedback prompt. Tap Give feedback β†’ to share your thoughts on the app.

Chat

The Chat tab is your communication hub. The chat list includes:

  • Announcements β€” official announcements from your employer

  • System notification channels β€” dedicated channels for Time Off, Time Shift, Tasks, Payroll, and Notification updates

  • My Assistant β€” automated assistant messages

  • General - [Location] β€” location-wide team channel

  • Direct messages and group chats β€” conversations you're part of, with unread badges

Tap the + (compose) icon at the top-right to start a new chat. Search by name, or tap + New Group to create a group chat and select members.

Inside any conversation, the message composer includes an emoji button, a + attachment button (Album, Camera, File, Task), and a microphone button for voice messages. Tap the send (blue arrow) button to send.

Group chats show the group name, member count, and online count (e.g., "3 Members, 1 Online"). In Group info you can rename the group, view and add members via the + button, toggle Mute all members, toggle Pin to Top, or tap Leave group.

Payroll

Payroll is a dedicated tab in the bottom bar. It contains three sections:

  • Set up β€” Basic info, payment method, and Tax withholding. Tap to update your personal details, direct deposit, and W-4 preferences.

  • Paystubs β€” Pay documents. Tap to view and download your pay stubs.

  • Tax Center β€” Tax Forms: W2s and 1099s, and FAQs. Tap to access your tax documents and common payroll questions.

πŸ“Œ To receive your W-2 electronically, go to Payroll β†’ Set up and check the paperless W-2 option in your personal information.

Schedule

Access Schedule from the More grid. The Schedule screen (titled "Scheduling") shows your upcoming shifts in a list view. Use the toggle icons at the top-right to switch between list view and calendar view.

Each shift entry shows the date, time range (e.g., 9:00 am – 5:00 pm), role, and location. For your current shift, a Clock in now button appears. For upcoming shifts, a swap request icon is available on the right.

Manager Logbook

Access Manager Logbook from the More grid. The logbook shows notes posted by your managers, each with the author name, date, message, and category tag (e.g., Incidents, Operational). Filter entries by Category and Location using the dropdowns at the top.

Workers can view logbook entries but cannot create new ones.

Form

Access Form from the More grid. The Forms screen shows all forms assigned to you, grouped by category (e.g., Extra, Finance, Operations, Performance, Workstream Internal). Tap any form to open and complete it.

Tasks

Access Tasks from the More grid. Your tasks are grouped by urgency:

  • Next 7 Days β€” tasks due within the next week, showing task name, due date, and assignee

  • More than 7 Days β€” tasks due further out

Use the Only me filter and the location dropdown to narrow results. Tap the search icon to find a specific task. Tap any task to open and complete it.

Time Clock

Access Time Clock from the More grid, or tap Clock in β†’ directly from the Today screen's "Your next shift" card.

When clocking in for the first time, you may see a "Confirm your current location" prompt. Tap Share location to allow location sharing during clock-in, or Setup later to skip.

From the Time Clock screen you can:

  • Clock in to your scheduled shift

  • Select your role and location if prompted (a picker shows your assigned location with a WORKER badge)

  • Take a Break and end it when done; tap "Edit your break end time" if you forgot to end it

  • Clock out when your shift ends

πŸ“Œ Your location is only shared at the moment you clock in. Workstream does not track your location after that.

Time Off & Availability

Access Time Off from the More grid. The Time off screen has two sections:

Availability

  • General availability β€” tap Edit to set your recurring weekly unavailability. This tells your manager when you cannot work so they can schedule you accordingly.

  • One-time unavailability β€” tap + to block off a specific date you cannot work.

Time off

  • Paid Time Off β€” shows your current PTO balance in hours. Tap to submit a time off request.

Resolved

Shows the history of your submitted time off requests. Filter by All statuses and All dates using the dropdowns. New users will see: "Your time off history will appear here after you submit a request."
