Add pay rate to a Talent Network text invite

Learn how to make sure the pay rate for a job posting automatically shows up when you invite a prospect to apply by text through Talent Network.

Before you start

  • Talent Network needs to be enabled for your account. If you have it, you'll see a Go to Talent Network or Visit Talent Network link from your job postings.

  • There's no separate "SMS template" setting to edit for this — Talent Network automatically adds the pay rate to the invite text whenever the job posting you're inviting for has a pay rate set. You don't type or edit the message yourself; the wording is generated automatically based on the job posting's details.

  • The prospect's SMS invite option is only available if they're subscribed to text messages. If a prospect has unsubscribed, the text invite option will be grayed out for them.

    Steps

  1. Go to the Job Postings page and open the job posting you want prospects to apply to (or select Create job posting if it doesn't exist yet).

2. Move to the Compensation step of the job posting. Under What is the base pay for this job posting?, enter the pay amount and pay frequency for the role, then continue to Preview and Publishing options to save your changes.

The Compensation step where the job posting's pay rate is entered.

3. From the job posting, select Go to Talent Network to open the Talent Network app.

4. On the Prospects page, find the prospect you want to invite. Select the invite icon next to their name, then choose Invite to apply via text (or open the prospect's profile and select Invite to apply, then choose the text option).

The row action menu where you choose to invite a prospect by text or email.

5. In the invite window, confirm which job posting the invite is for using the Which job posting is this invitation for? dropdown. If that job posting has a pay rate set, the preview message will already include it automatically — there's nothing extra to type.

6. Select Review to see a preview of the exact text message, including the pay rate if it's set, then select Send invitation (or Send invitations if you selected more than one prospect).

The review screen showing a preview of the text message as the prospect will receive it, including the pay rate when it's set.

💡 If a job posting doesn't have a pay rate entered, Talent Network sends a shorter invite text without any pay information — adding the pay rate on the job posting is the only step needed to make it appear.

📌 The same pay rate that appears in the text invite also appears in the email invite, under "Pay," so setting it once covers both channels.

⚠️ In some states, including a pay rate on a job posting may be required by law — check with your legal counsel or HR professional to confirm what applies to your locations.
