Connect your Outlook Calendar to Workstream to see your schedule in one place and keep interviews from clashing with your other events. Events marked “Busy” (including “Out of Office” events with a start and end time) block interview times, while events marked “Free” don’t, so applicants can still book during those slots.
By default, all-day events don’t block interview times. To block a whole day, create an event with a specific start and end time.
📌 You can connect both your Outlook Calendar and Google Calendar at the same time. This ensures that interviews will only be scheduled when you're truly available, helping to avoid conflicts.
Connecting your Outlook Calendar account.
Connect Outlook Calendar
Select your profile at the top-right corner.
Select Account settings, then Scheduling.
In Outlook.com Calendar Integration, select the Microsoft sign-in button, then sign in to your account.
Review Workstream’s access to your Outlook account, then select Accept.
Microsoft 365 work and school accounts and personal Outlook.com accounts both work. Once you approve, the page updates on its own. You don't need to reload it.
Set up your calendar settings
After you connect, you'll see "Connected to your Outlook.com Calendar account" with your email and these settings:
Displayed calendars: Choose which of your Outlook calendars Workstream shows on your schedule and checks for busy time. If you've added your team members' calendars to Outlook, you can pick whose calendar you want to see on your Workstream schedule.
(Optional) Turn on Conflict Avoidance to make sure you don't schedule two events at the same time.
Turn on Sync to Outlook Calendar to add confirmed interviews to an Outlook calendar. By default, Workstream creates a calendar named Workstream Calendar for them. You can choose another calendar you can edit instead.
💡 Learn more about Conflict Avoidance
When you turn on Conflict Avoidance, applicants can’t book a time that overlaps a “Busy” event on any of your displayed calendars
If you already have a scheduled time slot, and something is scheduled on Outlook Calendar, the event and time slot will still be there and active
If applicants can still schedule interviews on blocked days in your Outlook Calendar, it's because you need to set a specific start and end time for those blocks
To avoid scheduling problems, simply create an event for the day and specify the time range
