Workstream lets you add flags to monitor team member shifts for compliance and efficiency.
Clock in/out location too far from the store: Set the distance, in feet, that team members can be from their designated location when they clock in or out. This helps make sure they are on-site when they start their shift. The default is 500 feet.
Long shift: If team members frequently exceed your usual shift length, adjust the shift length threshold. The default is 9 hours.
Set up geofencing and long shift warnings
Access Time and Scheduling settings
Go to Team View, then select Time and Scheduling.
You can also sign in directly to the Worker Hub.
Go to ⚙️ Settings.
Select Time and Scheduling.
Go to the Flags section, then select Edit.
Activate geofencing
Enable the Clock in/out location too far from the store flag.
Set the threshold distance in feet (the default is 500 feet, and the maximum is 32,800 feet). If a team member clocks in or out farther than this distance, the system will flag the shift. If you leave the threshold blank, location flags are skipped.
Activate shift monitoring
Enable the Long shift flag.
Set the shift length threshold (the default is 9 hours). If a team member works that long or longer, the system will flag the shift.
Select Save to apply the changes.
Get your exact workplace location
If you’ve turned on Geofencing and your team gets errors like “too far from the workplace” when clocking in or out, the problem might be the pin location on the map. Even if the address is correct, Google Maps can place the red pin slightly off from the actual building. This causes the system to think your team is outside the allowed area.
To fix this, send your exact Plus Code or coordinates from Google Maps to your Workstream point of contact. This lets us check and update the pin so it matches your most accurate workplace spot.

On your phone (Android or iPhone)
Open the Google Maps app.
Do one of the following:
If you’re at the location, tap the blue dot 🔵 (this marks where you are).
If you're not at the location, you can search for the address, or drag the map then press and hold to drop a red pin.
A panel will slide up from the bottom of the screen. Scroll down until you see:
Plus Code (it looks something like: PWH8+56 San Francisco, California).
Coordinates (a pair of numbers like: 37.7824746, -122.4105876).
Copy both, or take a screenshot.
Share them with your Workstream POC so we can check and update the pin.
On your computer
Go to Google Maps.
Do one of the following:
If you’re at the location, click the blue dot 🔵.
If you’re not at the location, search for the address then click the exact spot to drop a gray pin.
You’ll see a box pop up at the bottom with the coordinates (a pair of numbers like: 37.7824746, -122.4105876).
On the left side panel, you’ll also see the Plus Code (it looks something like: PWH8+56 San Francisco, California).
Copy both, or take a screenshot.
Share them with your Workstream POC so we can check and update the pin.
