Edit time cards in the new experience

Timesheets — Review flags, read worker notes, and edit clock times, breaks, and tips from a single side-panel editor.

Timesheets now has a redesigned Edit Time Card side panel that brings flags, worker notes, and quick fixes into one place, so you can resolve exceptions and approve time cards in a single flow.

Below is an overview of what's changed and how to use it.

What's new

✔️ Review and resolve flags in one place

Open a time card row in Timesheets to see every flag on that card at a glance — for example, "Clock out location 1234ft away from store" (with a View on map link), "Break long by 13m", or "Missed lunch break".

Select Clear all flags to resolve everything on the card in one click.

✔️ See the worker's note before you edit

If a worker added a note when clocking out or explaining a flag (e.g. "forgot to record my lunch break but I took it"), it now appears inline with the flag — so you have context before making a change.

✔️ Edit clock times, breaks, and lunch inline

From the same panel, you can:

  • Edit the date, in time, out time, worker, and role directly.

  • Manage breaks — add a break, resolve Missed break prompts with a one-click Add break action, and review break details (e.g. Rest break: 9:10 – 9:20 • 10m unpaid).

  • Manage the lunch break with Start, Duration, and End fields, plus smart warnings like "Ended early by 16m — Update to 30m", and a Paid/Unpaid toggle.

✔️ Track tips and cleared-flag history

Enter and categorize tips directly on the card, and check the Cleared flags section for an audit trail of issues that were already resolved.

A live total at the bottom of the panel (e.g. 8h 30m — 8h 10m paid • 20m unpaid) updates as you make changes.

✔️ Update and approve in a single action

Choose Update only to save your changes, or Update and Approve to save and approve the time card in one step.

FAQs

What happens to the existing edit time card flow?

It's replaced by this new side-panel experience, which combines editing and approving into one flow.

Does the worker's note appear automatically?

Yes. When a worker adds a note while clocking out or explaining a flag, it appears inline with that flag in the panel.

Can managers still approve without clearing flags?

Yes. Flags remain visible, and are moved to the Cleared flags history once resolved.

What flag types are supported?

Clock-out location (geofence distance), long break, missed break, missed lunch, ended-early lunch, and other flags driven by the flag rules engine.
